River Barge Excursion Lines

The Riverbarge Experience

See America Differently!

A vacation should spark your curiosity. Ignite your imagination. Re-kindle your long dormant sense of adventure. It should get you fired up about living. Get you ready to go back to work. And leave you with memories that last a lifetime.

That's exactly what a RiverBarge Excursion is designed to do. It's a different kind of vacation. On a different kind of vessel. With a different way of looking at the river, the land, the sky and the people.

See America. Differently. Travel in style, comfort and safety aboard the type of craft that opened the North American continent to exploration.

It's called the R/B River Explorer. It's built for a new kind of exploration, one that allows you to gain a whole new way of looking at America. And yourself.

If getting there is half the fun, we dare say that you'll have trouble finding a vacation that makes getting there more fun than a RiverBarge Excursion. We travel America's rivers to places that offer much to see and do. Some of the places are off the beaten path. And that's the point. We give you an insider's view of America. It's a chance for us to share what we've learned about America and her people in the places that we visit.

Our focus is always the river. How it shaped America. How it fostered commerce and settlement. How it helped cities and towns grow and prosper.

Memphis. St. Louis. Cincinnati. New Orleans. All these cities owe their existence to the river. Unfortunately, modern life with its interstate highways and rapid pace has blurred the distinctiveness of each of these cities. From the freeway, these cities all look the same. But the river never deserted these cities. And it never deserted many of the other beautiful towns along the way.

From the river, it's easy to see what makes these cities and towns unique. From the river, you see the cities and towns for what they are, what they were and what they probably shall be for years to come.

We're glad you're considering an excursion with us, and we're confident that you'll enjoy Barging Through America® for the experience of a lifetime—a RiverBarge experience.

It's the little touches that make us different

Hear the captain's radio communications with his crew. And with other vessels on the river. Check out the radar screen in the Pilot House. Go to the Galley for a midnight snack. Enjoy deliciously-prepared meals with new-found friends—we feature open seating—or grab an early morning cup of coffee and a bit of solitude up on the Sky Deck.

We offer concierge services, incredibly diverse recreational opportunities and friendly, courteous BargeMates who can always be counted on to help you enjoy your trip. We go out of our way to please you, with special offboard activities along the way.

Make yourself at home. Travel light if you want to; there's a free self-service laundry onboard. Our staterooms are spacious, clean and comfortable with super queen or twin beds, satellite TV, VCR, refrigerator, phone, full-size tub and shower, BIG picture windows and much more. The Galley's always open. You can raid the 'fridge—even if it isn't meal time and we've got a Blue Plate Special that lives up to its name. Or you can satisfy your sweet tooth with the goodies from our now famous Perpetual Cookie Jar.

No matter how you spend your time onboard the R/B River Explorer, you'll find there's a virtually endless supply of things to enjoy.
