Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 - Manaus, Brazil
The capital of Brazil’s Amazonas state, Manaus is the gateway to the riches of the great Amazon Basin forest and the key trading city for goods coming downriver and those flowing up from the coast. It holds many reminders of its boom-and-bust history, including the lavish Opera House which attracted the stars of music and theater from Europe and America a hundred years ago. Here. Too, you can witness the Meeting of the Waters, where the black, jungle-stained Rio Negro flows alongside the mud-brown Solimoes until the two waters finally mix to join the Amazon.
Day 2 - Manaus, Brazil
Day 3 - Parintins, Brazil
This small village puts on a real show when you are invited to an Exclusively Seabourn “Boi Bumba” festival. Similar to Rio’s Carnaval celebrations, here schools prepare all year to outdo each other with extravagant costumes, often crafted from local materials, and exuberant music and dance.
Day 4 - Santarem, Brazil
Excursions offer the chance to absorb the local culture, both natural and man-made that makes up daily life along the Amazon. A boat ride to Lake Maica even affords the chance to fish for piranha. Or visit a wildlife rehabilitation center where wild animals and birds are prepared to be released into the forest.
Day 5 - Santarem / Curua Una River, Brazil
Explore this tributary of the Amazon to discover how the local people (called Caboclos) live. See flooded forests, pastures with water buffalos and a wide variety of homes from simple thatched huts to brick houses with gardens.
Day 6 - Cruising the North Breves Narrows, Brazil
Not many ships can pass between the jungle walls of this narrow passage, but it’s a part of your Seabourn experience of the Amazon.

Day 10 - Bridgetown, Barbados
Bridgetown's British-influenced downtown sports its own Trafalgar Square. But the fine ivory beaches front a sea of luminous Caribbean blue and the countryside is green with sugarcane. A lovely excursion visits a restored plantation house and a quiet parish church.

Day 14 - Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands
The capital of the U.S. Virgin Islands tempts you to sail, snorkel, fly, drive or just stroll its gingerbread-decorated streets, lined with duty-free emporia.
