The Yachts of Seabourn
Ancient Civilizations
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 - Alexandria (Cairo), Egypt
Site of the Pharos, the magnificent lighthouse that was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, Alexander's city is our port for Cairo. Shore excursions explore the Sphinx and the pyramids of Giza and the wonders preserved in the Egyptian Museum, including the treasures of King Tutankhamen
Day 2 - Cruising the Mediterranean Sea
A day at sea to enjoy the many pleasures of your Seabourn yacht. Check the daily Seabourn Herald for intriguing shipboard activities.
Day 3 - Rhodes, Greek Isles
Legend has it that Apollo blessed this isle with sunshine and beauty. True to the myths, Rhodes welcomes you to magnificent scenery and umbrella-lined beaches. One optional excursion explores the medieval Old Town where the Grand Master's Palace is famed for its superb mosaic floors.
Day 4 - Bodrum, Turkey
A favorite retreat along Turkey's Emerald Coast, Bodrum is one of the idyllic sites where, conditions permitting, the ship's marina may be enjoyed. Ashore, explore the castle built by the Knights of St. John
Day 5 - Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey
Witness Ephesus, one of the greatest cities of antiquity and one of the best restored, on an optional tour from Kusadasi. Walking along the marble paving, you can almost hear the steps of marching Roman legions or the ardent preaching of St. Paul addressing the Ephesians.
Exclusively Seabourne - In the evening when the ancient site of Ephesus is closed to visitors, our Seabourn guests will experience the ultimate private cocktail party in this amazing archeological wonder. Be transported back in time to the height of the Roman Empire as "Ephesians" bearing cornucopia overflowing with fruits greet you at the entrance. A torch light procession via the ancient harbor road that once resounded with the footsteps of leaders such as Anthony and Cleopatra ensues before reaching the Town Square.
An abundance of wine, cocktails and canapés awaits while a chamber group plays classical music and our very "Exclusively Seabourn" guests soak in the ambiance as it must have been thousands of years ago. A unique and magical evening.
Day 6 - Mykonos, Greek Isles
Sugar-cube houses with brilliant blue trim, whitewashed windmills and domed churches are all on display from the moment Mykonos comes into view. Join the lively scene in town. Or venture to the sacred island of Delos with its rich history from ancient times.
Day 7 - Athens (Piraeus), Greece
The Hellenic capital offers a fabulous array of antiquities: the Acropolis, the Parthenon, the Erechtheum and the Temple of Nike Athena to name just a few. Plus there’s Constitution Square with its colorful Evzone Guards and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Day 8 - Santorini, Greek Isles
Your ship anchors in deep blue water in the curve of a collapsed volcano's cone. Ascend to the frost-white town of Thira for an optional winery tour, and then visit Oia for a glimpse of the island's seafaring past. Or choose an archeological excursion to the ancient Minoan town of Akrotiri.
Day 9 - Cruising the Ionian Sea
Sailing beneath Italy’s boot, south of the Adriatic Sea.
Day 10 - Navplion (Myceane), Greece
This Sicilian harbor has much to offer in the way of history and beauty. Its museum is noteworthy for its Renaissance masterworks. Visit the Bell Tower at the stroke of noon to see one of the world's largest and most fanciful clocks spring into action.

The Amalfi coast has been called the greatest meeting of land and sea on earth. Travel this breathtaking coastline to the charming artists’ haven of Ravello, or stay at sea level and enter the famous Emerald Grotto.

The island’s name evokes a dramatic coastline set in a blue sea, and the reality lives up to the legend. Cruise the rugged coastline in a motorlaunch, then drive up to the hillside village of Anacapri for sweeping views. Or enter the famous Blue Grotto in a small rowboat with a local oarsman.
Day 13 -Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy
